… and it’s over. Seems like no more than four weeks ago that we got here. Hang on, it was four weeks ago. Fair enough then, let’s move on.
Usual palaver in the morning, get up early, get everything packed, wonder why we bought even more stuff and leave the flat an hour before we needed to. Actually two hours before we needed to. Anyway, it feels better to be at the station with time to kill, rather than wondering if you’ll make it.
We made it. Time for breakfast, check in, another romp through a souvenir shop and we’re on the train. Eurostar seem to run trains hourly from 7am through to 7pm, every day. Each train has 18 coaches and roughly 50 seats per coach. That’s a lot of people crossing the channel each day, just by train.
Found the right platform and caught a train to Brighton, then dinner at a Thai restaurant with Emily and Chris. No sightseeing photos from the day, as there was no sightseeing.
Having said that, we saw this. I took a brief video too, which I’ll try and upload.

It’s a pedal-powered booze wagon. Everyone sits at a table and can drink beers, while peddling the contraption along.
Two girls from the bike company were piloting the thing, so technically there’s no drink driving involved. All the drinkers are doing is providing pedal power. But for how long? We stayed with them for a couple of blocks until they reached their next pub, so it travels at a fairly sedate walking pace.
Dinner at the Giggling Squid. Great food, recommended if you’re ever in Brighton. Friday done.
