We slept in a bit this morning, then lounged around whilst we awaited guests. Guests being Amelia, all the way from Melbourne, and Amanda and Cameron, (and Dave and Karen and Hinchy) from Blayney.
Amelia is joining us for a few days before heading off on a tour of France, Switzerland and Spain. She showed up about 9am after a bit of an epic flight. Not the flight so much as the flight plans. She was supposed to be coming via Vietnam but a last minute hitch (literally, she was at the airport, with suitcases) with visas meant she couldn’t get on the flight. Some quick last-minute wrangling and she managed to get on a Thai Airlines flight and got into Paris at 7am this morning.

Amanda and Cameron have been here for a week, travelling with friends and watching the Rugby. We met up for coffee and then went for a wander around, followed by lunch. It was raining a bit, then a lot. We all got rather wet, but have new souvenir Paris umbrellas as a result. That was the silver lining on those clouds.

We’re staying in the area of Montmartre (Mont Mart), which basically covers a hill (hence the Mont bit), and at the top of said hill there is the Sacre Coeur Basilica, a rather grand church. The site is as popular for the panoramic views as for the church. Today it was popular because it was dry.

Shame it was raining as there would have been more photos. As it was the views were a bit limited. Still, you got the feel of it.

We’ll, I’ll be quacked?! Wandering down one of the myriad little streets we came across the Paris Duck Store. Who knew there was another duck store? Michelle said, “come away, nothing to be seen here that’s any different to Brighton.” Like Hell! Check out these beauties.
