Winnie, that is. Winnie the Pooh. Our first port of call today was the 100-acre wood, near Hartfield in Kent.
We picked up a rental car in Brighton, waved goodbye to Amelia (abandoned her really – she’s off to Edinburgh) and headed off in search of Pooh and his friends.
Turns out there really was a Christopher Robin, a Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, etc. A.A. Milne based the book on his son’s antics and the stuffed toys he had.
After some searching we found Pooh’s house, Piglet’s cottage and Poohsticks Bridge. It was a decent walk down to the bridge from the car park, and an even more decent struggle back up the long hill. But it was worth it.

We followed up with lunch at Pooh Corner, a cafe, museum and gift shop nearby.

Anyway, enough Pooh. It’s off to Maidstone.
Maidstone is hosting a Shaun the Sheep art trail. We had to visit it, or otherwise why name the blog shauntrail.com in the first place? Enjoy the pics.

It’s an amusing way to explore a city, involving a lot of walking. Some of the other stuff we found:

And dinner at the Queens Head, except it didn’t do dinner on Monday night, so next door to the Kings Head.

And we’re done, Stephen and Michelle.
