End of an Era
Time moves on. Sadly, I have decided that I need to move on too. This is (probably) the very last Cheers!
As long-time readers would know, this used to be a single-page paper-based newsletter. Then more and more PDF versions were being emailed and less paper copies put in the post. Finally in 2014 I moved Cheers! on line.
Now it is to be no more. There are too many other mediums, like FaceBook, SnapChat and Twitter, competing for people's time. It takes ages to compile and anything that is in here you have probably already heard via someone else's social media feed. It just isn't news anymore. What next? Christmas cards? Not likely. Michelle suggested I run a poll to see if anyone would miss Cheers!. So I have. Click here to have a say.
Have a browse. If you feel sentimental you can always dig out one of the old volumes from the archive. I might even get myself onto FaceBook. I did set up a Twitter account, haven't used it - but I have one. I do occasionally update my LinkedIn profile, if my professional career interests you at all.

Overview of the Year
2017 became the year of two households. After being made redundant at UnityWater in November 2016 Steve cast around for something interesting. That came in the form of a job as Manager Operations at Wagga Wagga City Council. So, it was back to local government in NSW after an absence of 19 years.
Because Amelia is still at Uni in Queensland, and Michelle still has a good job with Feros Care, which she enjoys, and also because Hannah refuses to leave the sunshine - Steve has hit out alone for the time being. Michelle also wanted to remain reasonably close to her mother, Jean, especially after Brian's death in July.
It is a temporary arrangement. How temporary? Don't know, we will just have to see what comes along. In the meantime Steve heads back to the Sunshine Coast for a long weekend every other month.
